Remember that gun massacre in Australia in 1996, 35 dead and a simlar number wounded.  Australia banned guns and there hasn't been another one since.

Las Vegas is the 273rd mass shooting in America in the last 275 DAYS.

Talking about other ways in which people can mass murder each other is absolutely redundant when you ignore the single biggest current way that people are commiting mass murder.

Almost 50,000 people a year died from auto accident, are we going to ban automobiles  ??

Seriously?  That's the best you've got? Are you expecting me or someone else to explain the difference to you between a car accident and pre-meditated mass murder with a deadly weapon?

I am afraid we can see where he is going with that argument ... I am not sure anything would persuade him because when people reach for the ridiculous there is no point in arguing with him.

Myself I despair of the US and its gun laws - I know it is to ingrained in their culture so I would never be expecting anything remotely restricting the sale of handguns or shotguns but some moderation on how they are sold and what is sold - after Sandy Hook and Vegas because it strikes me if they don't get the message now they never will.

I will say something on statistics though and a while back I did compare mass shootings in Europe and the US and it is not quite as unbalanced as people think certainly when it comes to killings of more than about 10 people but lower down on the scale the US does become far worse.

Obviously you don't understand the problem isn't the gun. It's the evil persons shooting the gun !! If someone is going to kill & he can't get a gun, he's still going to kill !! Evil person will use a car, plane, hell even fertilizer will cause an explosion.

See inbuilt propaganda. Just repeat the same simplistic argument as a substitute for debate. You are totally entitled to your opinion though but I don't think i can rationally argue with you any more than I could with a creationist.

The real question here is why would a 64 year old multi millionaire with only one scrape with the law in his entire life, plan, execute such a mass murder? The guns are just are just means he chose to use.

There have been bombers, There have been poisoner's, There have been stabbers and slashers, There have been vehicle homicides. There have been stranglers, If it can kill people, these mass murderer's have used it.

WHY? now answer that question and we will have made real progress.

Being an AMERICAN, having our "BILL of RIGHTS" gives us freedom no other country has !! While i DON'T understand how people can live under a Socialist or Communist country, i won't criticize your country

Regarding that. Didn't his brother say something about their father being on the FBI's most wanted? I wondered if there was almost a genetic element to this - almost like he had been hiding his real face from the world but finely his true nature erupted.

As regarding the guns argument which as you rightly say is not the reason behind the killing but it is something that make s the killing easier and more effective and that is the argument we would make on the other side. Near where I live we had a psychopath who may have killed 500 with drugs - I think only about 300 were definite.

The guns he used and the clips he used for this madness, have been banned since 1986. fully automatic weapons, large magazine clips. or the means to make the weapon fully automatic. Only Law Enforcement and the Military can have such a weapon. It is obvious that these guns were purchased off the black market. The guy had 23 firearms in that Hotel room

We must address the real issue at hand and that is what drives a person to commit such crime against humanity?

Didn't realise that, because with the US being Federal, laws vary so much from state to state. So is that a Federal Law now and how many years has that been in place?
