Yes, anyone who goes into politics should be intelligent, but alas that is not always the case, as these "intelligent" people make some of the dumbest decisions when legislating the future of this country. You can be "intelligent" and still be lacking in honesty and integrity which is what I see as a major problem with many career politicians..
