Every time Mods must step in to quell a childish Domestic Dispute between members, they get yelled at by both parties. It's a no win situation for them, and they have far more important things to do in order to keep this site legal and fun. And flame-baiting and flaming is NOT FUN for others to watch. Thank you. All we're trying to explain to you is that simply removing certain posts that you keep addressing as "flame-bating" does not solve the matter at hand. It only shows the "perpetrators" that they can keep talking any way they want. Because the worst that can happen is their post will be removed. Me and a few other members are actually trying to help the mods the best we can in controlling hate and tenant trashing outbreaks. I must be too busy in life, because I have no idea what this is about and only stumbled on it - but I am stunned - really ..... I see what snaky posted and don't really understand so there must be issue I don't know about. I am just glad people volunteer to be mods. I contact some members via PMs in order to explain the situation and I remove blatant insults, but some of the issues expressed last night (some of which I personally disagree) were interesting and I believe their value was in posing the question, "How do I feel about women who behave in this manner?" It is a cultural and personal issue. If I kill too much discourse, I will be accused of censorship; if I let some things ride, I'll be accused of favoritism and excessive tolerance. People are going to complain about tenants no matter what we do, and some times it's probably deserved. I think the disappointing thing is that people take CC waaaayyy too seriously. But, I spoke with Foamy personally in pm and I understand what they are trying to do. I don't always agree that their approach works as you say, snaky. I said the exact same thing before. But they have a very tough job to do monitoring all of the CC traffic and trying to put out fires all the time. And there are many. I think you and I, snaky, are always trying to help them but I guess we are making it harder on them. Let's try to talk with them privately when these things come up or in this new thread. Good idea, Foamy, coming up with this separate thread. I think you will see snaky and myself here often. I certainly could take offense to it. Democracy is tough. Those in charge actually have to hear dissent and resist the temptation to silence it because it causes "flames"! We will do our arguments here or in pm's fro now on. But I am not mollified if the answer is cultural and political discourse must be allowed, thus allowing anything goes. CC is a private entity, not the public or the government. You do not have to allow horrible things to take place in the name of discourse! I am sorry, Foamy, I was ok until I read that post to snaky. You know it could be worse for you guys. The "good guys" like snaky and I could leave you to your own devices. Soon you will have only the bad guys left here.
