ojoslocos
It seems that this type of social experiment has a lot of potential, both as a profitable business and as a study of sociology... lots people love "reality TV", there are plenty of horny dudes willing to pay and apparently enough poor/vain/abnormally self-assured people willing to live in front of the world to keep it going. Watching this, I can't help but think about the Big Brother, Survivor, etc. The interesting thing here, at least until the girls' apartment, is that it is real life with all it's normal moments. Unlike those shows, little is known about these people and they aren't (weren't) here to compete for a winner, roommates weren't picked for dramatic results. I know there is a lot of debate as to whether these people we watch care/don't care what we, the weirdos sitting at our computers think and whether they are rewarded for provoking us by RLC. A case can be made either way I suppose, though Leora's and Paul's new apartment plants seeds of conspiracy. RLC is smart enough to adapt the format as time goes on. For example, the female apartment; it is likely indeed a new take with transient inhabitants- time will tell there if Nora is long term. That apartment changed the game a lot as I see it. They can go so many ways with this. It is an evolving concept I think. This forum has endless banter and theories and provides endless feedback to RLC. Surely this is not the last of this voyeur living that we'll see. That being said, it also has potential to exploit desperate people and folks in more developing parts of the world, which kind of freaks me out. Lets be honest, lots of people are really just hear to see some T&A and would pay to watch whether the people are middle class, Russians, in Spain, or some poor ass people being put up to push the limits of what they would normally consider moral to have something more. If by some chance, this did start to get big, well who knows? Imagine what it's like at RLC HQ. Super interesting.
JoJoGunne
I wouldn't read too much into RLC...all this stuff about "social experiment". I mean, I don't think there is someone back at RLC HQ collecting data for a sociology article. No...I think it's all about the money.

Ozi
Hi ojoslocos, welcome to planet earth. Which planet are you from? Or a different solar system maybe? Seriously, only someone from another planet would use expressions such as social experiment and a study of sociology in connection with RLC. And let’s not leave out the interesting thing here that it is real life with all its normal moments and surely this is not the last of this voyeur living that we'll see. Mate, whatever RLC may have started out as, it is nothing to do with real life or normal anymore. And as for voyeurism, much of it has more in common with chaturbate. Some of the couples maybe close to reality, Nina and Kira, Diana and Efim. But things like Dasha fucking herself with a banana, Daniel filming himself with an iphone having anal sex with Adriana, and Leora now freely masturbating in front of the camera every chance she gets, mate that’s all exhibitionism. And voyeurism is not about watching exhibitionists. A voyeur will watch and maybe even copy what he has seen to watch again. Watching recorded clips made by someone else is watching porn. And now apparently it’s all available on pornhd, along with all the other porn movies and porn stars. If you ever do find a real voyeur site, let me know. In the meantime, I guess we’ll keep watching RLC, but don’t for one second think it’s either real or voyeurism.

ojoslocos
Hi ojoslocos, welcome to planet earth. Which planet are you from? Or a different solar system maybe? ;D Ozi I know what you mean about voyeurism. It's just really interesting to me the whole thing. I've personally never seen anything quite like it, with cameras everywhere all the time. Maybe it's not that unique. You'd obviously have to be an exhibitionist to move into an apartment full of online cameras. To go face a camera and stick a banan-ildo in yourself knowing that any one you know could be watching- definitely puts you in the 'abnormally self-assured people" category I mentioned already. Pleasure to meet you all.
albacore
Well I know I may be in the minority here but this type of thing (I did not say RLC in particular) is the future of television. Web base TV is going to replace conventional television over the next 10 years. And the content providers that have the sites (channels) that people will watch and pay for will be the ones who get the audience. This really is part of my business so I know a little of what I am saying and can hold my own in an intense conversation about this. Television today will be rapidly morphing into internet based tv. Most new TV's sold are smart TV's. Currently, the future web TV providers are gobbling up content at an alarming (although profitable) rate. This will TV of the relatively near future. It may not be all pay per site type of services (actually little will be to start with) but they are definitely onto more than most people here (or probably RLC) realize. Most people on this site compare this to what is typical or what they are used to seeing. It is a incorrect view. I can tell you confidently that this TYPE of thing (not necessarily RLC) is a prototype of the future of what is to become of television. I have been in discussions about this exact type of programming as well as conventional type of productions. I know some will want to argue with me, but please believe me, when I say this is part of what I do for a living. The data for what I am saying, and the ongoing, rapid movement forward is real. In 10 to 20 years from now it will be so different than today. And, don't miss this ... as it is intentional from the business side; the market will be worldwide not country specific for content. There will be any potential investment options from this .......

Yep, the owners of the channels that people will watch and pay for will be the ones who get the audience. I guess that means that the owners of the channels that people don't watch and pay for will be the ones that won't get the audience! Not exactly rocket science is it. Don't know about the rest of the world, but Australians have been watching movies and tv shows on computers, tablets and phones for years. And can you tell me exactly and confidently what TYPE of thing (if it's not necessarily RLC) is a prototype of the future? And don't tell me it's reality tv because people have had a gutful of that garbage already.
