Yeah I think she likes the control she has over him. Also, I think she wants her freedom to fuck around but also gets lonely sometimes and likes Sayns cuddly company.

I am not sure "love" is the word, maybe extreme co-dependency. 

Elli has a bottomless hole in her life she unsuccessfully keeps trying to fill in unhealthy ways. Likely some trauma growing up. It always makes me think she had some fucked up unresolved issues with her father.

Sayn doesn't love himself and has put all his self worth and value as a human being onto Elli's acceptance which is mental health suicide. He likely was raised without ever feeling good about himself at all.

I was thinking maybe his first real relationship/first love.
