Damp walls with signs of saltpeter or efflorescence. Efflorescences or saltpeter are visible on the surface of the walls. They are distinguished by sight because they are small whitish crystals. The appearance results from the infiltration of moisture in the wall, due to cracked walls or by capillarity - rising humidity inside the walls from the ground - also known as rising humidity. How to treat walls with saltpeter signs? Saltpeter must be removed dry, by sanding or brushing. Once removed, Barbolite Sealant must be applied in two coats to the salted wall and repainted with the finishing paint. If there are cracks in the outer wall, it must be waterproofed using a Dioflex 2RT based paint scheme.
