It's a European thing with these late hours. Even when I was young in Denmark, many years ago, this routine with starting around midnight and ending in the morning was around. Barcelona the same, but filled with tourists en masse. Kristy's club opened at 21.30 and closed at 05.00.

When Kristy worked in Barcelona she came home like 5 in the morning.

Opening hours are just before midnight till 5 o'clock in the morning. Quite standard for nights out in Europe.
