Foamy T. Squirrel Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 It was a really fun and great sci-fi movie. Pretty much a classic for the genre, but primarily because Dern was great, the script was great, and Huey, Dewey and Louie worked together as a fantastic team. 1
Rod001 Posted July 22, 2019 Author Posted July 22, 2019 Silent Running is considered the first true film "Green", already warning of the dangers of self-sufficiency. Shot 47 years ago for a budget of $ 1 million, Silent Running has never been so contemporary. Freeman Lowell (Bruce Dern) teaches one of his three droids respect for plants (this is the droid that Georges Lucas will inspire to create R2D2). Silent Running est considéré comme le premier vrai film "Vert", avertissant déjà des dangers de l'autosuffisance. Tourné il y a 47 ans pour un budget d'un million de $, Silent Running n'a jamais été aussi contemporain. Freeman Lowell (Bruce Dern) enseigne a un de ses trois droïdes le respect des plantes (c'est de ce droïde dont Georges Lucas s'inspirera pour créer R2D2).
Foamy T. Squirrel Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 IMHO, Luca's first film was his greatest -- THX 1138, But that doesn't fit the year, because it was 1971. (His original version was a school project, done earlier.) The cops were fantastic.But they certainly weren't as lovable. 1

I can't find anything worthwhile that could be considered literature as good as this movie was. Don't get me wrong, it's a great film, even without competitors. Certainly the only one that year. If you can suggest another, let me know.
