From a fleet of around 400 tanks, only a third of Germany’s Leopard 2s are in an operational condition. And many countries are reneging on their promise to send modern weapons to Ukraine. They are also running out of ammo. The reluctance to send offensive weapons to Ukraine persists because of fears of an escalation of the war into a direct clash between Russia and Nato. And so Putin and his propaganda machine have hoodwinked the West. This is so stupid because he and some of his other cronies have already threatened to attack Western allies, Germany, Poland, England, Moldavia and others. They are also running out of ammo. Nach dem terroristischen Überfall von Putin auf das Land der Ukraine befinden wir uns in einer Zeitenwende, wie es Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz ausdrückte. Nach dem Fall des Eisernen Vorhang wurde unsere Deutsche Bundeswehr mehr und mehr nicht zur Landesverteidigung sondern zur Einsatztruppe zu UN-Einsätzen an Brennpunkten im Ausland umformiert. Das wird sich nun ändern müssen. Seit 1945 ist Deutschland ein Land von dem Frieden ausgeht. So wurden moderne Waffen auch nicht in Krisengebiete geliefert. Der Leopard 1-Panzer wurde bereits vor vielen Jahren ausgemustert und durch Leopard 2 ersetzt. Es ist eher Zufall das diese Leopard 1 noch auf Halde stehen und nicht längst zerlegt und verschrottet wurden. Nun können diese zeitaufwändig zerlegt, aufgearbeitet und reaktiviert werden. Das größere Problem ist Munition, da der Leo 2 ein anderes Kaliber verschießt. Das Problem wird gelöst, doch das braucht eben seine Zeit. Das ein großer Anteil der Leopard 2 -Flotte ständig in der Wartung ist, das ist völlig normal, es handelt sich eben um keinen PKW sondern technisch um ein hochkomplexes System. Allein, es ist bemerkenswert das größte Antreiber von Leopard 2, namentlich Polen und Tschechen nun den Schwanz einziehen und nichts liefert während Deutschland zuverlässig wie zugesagt 18 statt zunächst nur 14 Leo 2 liefern wird - und später dann noch 100 plus Leopard 1 zusätzlich.
