There is a very early morning light from Barcelona to Istanbul on Nov. 23. From Istanbul she presumably would connect to a light from Istanbul to Moscow or Saint Petersburg. If she said she was taking a train, she likely would be taking a long train ride from Moscow to somewhere in eastern or southeastern Russia. 1 2

Expand No, there are no direct trains between Turkey and Russia. Apparently there are no direct trains between other western countries and Russia. One could travel to Belarus, and from Belarus to Russia. But such an itinerary would complicate visa issuances and clearances. 2 1
