I'm pretty sure RLC can track down to the second the amount of time and how many subs are viewing each camera.  Thus, the members get paid based on their respective rooms, in addition the common areas are shared by the tenants of the apartments.  Why do you think Kat-spread lays on her bed with her legs parted, without really doing anything.

But while Kat gets people looking to see, does it actually translate into people buying subs? If RLC had ads then, then it means higher rates for ads but it needs to turn into subs. Eris flicking her bean could have same number of viewers but much better odds of viewers getting a sub.

It is a running theory, and the tenants doesn't know how the bonus works. From my post, it was my observation added from what I was told by the tenant. Could be other factors too, like how much the subscribers spend with Reals. What is known is that RLC pays them without a set standard. But it is kinda logical that the most popular could be paid more.

Also, from all this year's in this forum, it seems that RLC changes those rules from time to time. Nowadays could be a different rule.

Unless you are already a sub, you can't view the non-free cams.
