Good News, Bad News

Recommended Posts

Good news is the site is back up. Normal logins working.

Bad news is we lost about a weeks worth of posts (as warned). In my case it was between 30-40. Most of my posts were pictures throughout various threads and some comments here and there, including the problems we were experiencing. The one mission critical post that was of more importance was posting links to the latest Leora masturbation session last week. Because I don't have my paid member status back yet, I can't repost it to the attachment center. I will try dirtybin and hope that works and use the attachment option when available again.

I assume the site administrator is working on the paid status problem. I wrote and email to the admin yesterday morning requesting the update but so for, not happening. I would guess that the paid status problem well likely be updated for all at the same time, although writing the admin about your particular situation if you don't see a fix when others are coming back, may be in order.

Likewise my paid membership has not come back yet, although I also wrote to admin yesterday and received no reply. Its going to be a waiting game I think. And for you to loose Leora posts is tantamount to sacrilege....Here's hoping you can get them back, for everyone's sake ,as you are a generous contributor.

Their response times for email is quoted as Monday through Friday. An individual request may take a day or two. I can't help but believe that CC id aware of the problem and the paid status update will come next. A complete site restore was a fairly drastic step that I'm sure they took after everything else didn't work.

Where are you finding the notifications from CamCaps about the site breakdown and restoration status?  I haven't seen anything, except that first I couldn't login yesterday and then later I couldn't even reach the site at all.  Whatever I learn is from posts like yours.

I had to reset my password and everything. but glade its back up.

Mine worked okay today (finally). I did notice that when the site was going up and down that some members were creating new logins. It's possible that your info may have gotten caught up in that, even if you din't create a new account. I resisted the temptation to mess with a new account, preferring to wait another day to see what would happen  to the original user login data base. Fact is you're back now, so good deal for you.

I am back up and running with my old password and a post-count and posts through May 30--having lost the ones since then.  Also, CC is not showing my paid status (nor, apparently, anyone else's).  Yesterday, I did try to create a new registration using my same screen name.  That seemed to mess things up at the time.  The program kept saying that it sent a validation email to my email address, but I never received it (either in the Inbox or in Junk).  Instead, very peculiarly unless there is a website company connection, I got emails from Pornhub.com saying that it was a validation request pursuant to the registration I had just initiated.  I had no known registration with Pornhub.  Anyway, CamCaps would not accept the new registration and password for failure to validate (even after I validated with Pornhub).  And--probably as with everyone else--if I used my old login data--the site said that I was not recognized.

You must not have been around on Friday, when everything went to hell in handbasket. First various threads were disappearing and even when I or SC could force one back in to view, it might disappear again. Then there were login problems and apparently there was no easy fix for the admin. At one point there was a notice in big read letters at the top of the site page warning that the site was going to be reset to May 30. This notice lasted for a short time and then the site went dark. When the site came back this afternoon most of the problems were solved except for "paid member" status and the missing posts lost in the site restore, which I assume was the date of the last good backup.

Quick question.  With all the work that they have/still have to do should i even email them about my paid status?  I thought i would just wait awhile and see if they got it worked out.

Sounds reasonable to me. I sent an email when nothing was working on CC. As I previously mentioned I'm sure that CC is aware of the paid member problem and should sort that out in a day or two. If you don't see your account return to normal then I would  send them an email. Also, they are not responding today in any event, only Monday thru Friday.

I got to keep my same account but I tired to log in to many times I guess so they made me change my password. but its all good now.
