Krasnoyarsk is roughly at the same latitude as the south east panhandle of  Alaska and much of Canada. Long summer days which requires nudity, and cold, long winter nights that require Leora to cuddle with warm fluffy squirrels.

St. Petersburg is even more extreme.

The last time I was in Alaska during Summer Solstice, I took pictures of wild flowers hand-held with Kodachrome 24 ASA. The pictures came out great, but that never-ending daylight really messed up my sleep routine way worse than jet-lag.

Compared with Murmansk, in St. Petersburg just wonderful. There, above the Arctic Circle, really not sleep in the summer, and not wake up in the winter.
