I would support some new gun regulations if I trusted the government's motives for doing so, but I don't. I see most legislation proposed by Democrats as an attempt to disarm millions of law abiding Americans while doing nothing to address the problem of violent crimes in our large cities. Most of the guns used to commit crimes in our cities are already illegally owned. People who commit violent crimes need to be removed from society so that they have no opportunity to be repeat offenders. Also, the Swiss government promotes the possession of guns by its citizens as a way of protecting the country from a foreign invader.
