If Trump is dead than someone will beat him in the Republican primary. That's how things should be decided, with votes; not through coronation like they are trying to with the Speakers job right now.

I'm in favor of Ukraine, but not unlimited spending with no oversight of the spending. I don't want any of the money going to Ukraine to end up Hunter Biden's bank account. Oh yeah, if Trump had been reelected Putin would have never invaded Ukraine.

If there is no difference between the policies of Democrats nor Republicans who gives a damn who wins? That's why Trump won the presidential primary and general election in 2016. People were fed up with both political parties and career politicians.

This has nothing to do with policy, it has to do with a personal distrust of Kevin McCarthy. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Jim Jordan support McCarthy. Those are two of the most right wing members of the Republican Party. If McCarthy really cared about the party rather than his personal ambition he would withdraw and give his support to someone who can win 218 votes.

Without the votes of people who support the policies put forth by Trump and MAGA voters the Republican Party will never win another election. McCarthy says all the right things but I do not trust him because of his past history in the House. In McCarhy I see the potential of another John Boehner or Paul Ryan who were both wimpy Washington, D.C. swamp dwellers.

This battle for Speaker is a meaningless Washington, D.C. soap opera which means nothing for America and the lives of the American people. Also, I thought this was suppose to be a VOTE for Speaker not a coronation for Kevin McCarthy. So are you saying if a representative believes in a democratic process there's no place for them in the Republican Party.

And if the Republican Party abandons MAGA voters the party is finished and it will be a good riddance.

No, the problem is not people who are coming here to make a better life for themselves. The problem is U.S. politicians who have opened our border and invited them in.

How is he going to pack it? Democrat Senators who are up for reelection in 2024 along with Joe Manchin will never vote to change the number of Supreme Court Justices.

And the only reason Rep. Gonzales is concerned is because he is afraid the "dire scenario" will cause him to be voted out of office in the 2024 election.

This is a big to do about nothing. Doesn't mater who the Republican Speaker of the House is because House Republicans have no power to do anything after Mitch McConnell and 17 other RINO Republican senators took their power away when they helped to pass the $1.7 trillion spending bill. The only thing House Republicans can do now is investigate Democrats with congressional committees, but even that will result in nothing because the Biden DOJ will never prosecute any Democrat crimes and the biased news media will not even cover the hearings. If Republicans pass legislation in the House the legislation will most likely die in the Senate, and if it does survive the Senate Biden will veto it.

And Mitch McConnell is a close second place.

I'm not sure McCarthy has the strength to withstand the attacks from the Democrats and news media if he becomes Speaker of the House. I'm afraid he will whither and wimp out from all the pressure and give Democrats everything they want in hope of being loved by the news media. I don't believe McCarthy is a very strong person. This fight for the Speaker's job could be a good test of McCarthy's strength. Will he be a strong representative for the American people or is he just another Washington, D.C. spineless, wimpy Republican RINO swamp creature.

Mitch McConnell and 17 other Republican senators screwed the Republicans in the House and the American people when they helped Joe Biden and the Democrats to pass the $1.7 trillion spending bill. McConnell took away the Republican House's power to control the government by controlling spending. The spending plan approved by McConnell and the other RINO senators funds the government until Oct. 1,2023. Many Republicans in the House fear that McCarthy, based upon his past history, is just another Mitch McConnell.

Spoken like a true liberal progressive Democrat lover. And truthfully, I couldn't care less about Kevin McCarthy's political ambitions. I'm more concerned about what happens to America and the American people.

Anybody watching tonight's NFL game between Cincinnati and Buffalo? Scary situation on the field. A Buffalo defensive player tackled a Cincinnati ball carrier. After the tackle both players got up to their feet, and then the Buffalo player took a couple steps and fell over backwards and lay motionless on the field. The medical team gave him CPR for at least 10 minutes. He was then loaded into an ambulance and taken to the hospital. The game has been suspended. Last report from the hospital is that the player is in critical condition.

The suspect said he wanted to join the Taliban. I think we should help him. Load him into a plane, fly him over Afghanistan at about 5,000 feet, and then push him out of the plane with no parachute.

I wish he would spend 100% of his time in office on vacation. It would be better for the country.
