Yes, the number of representatives from each state is proportionate. That is only fair, and normal almost all democracies. Where you differ from us though, and what really skews the results in a more undemocratic way, is the system of first-past-the-post. To illustrate: Now Biden gets 55 electoral votes from California, and Trump gets 38 from Texas. In a proportionate system California would still count 55, but only maybe let us say 38 would go to Biden, and 18 to Trump. Texas would still count 38, but maybe 20 would go to Trump, and 18 to Biden. Only under a system like this will for example a 3rd party be able to get a fair representation. It's also quite remarkable that you don't actually have federal uniform election laws!

I think he must understand the concept of a federation. He is German, and Germany is also a federation. The reason for so many votes being wasted, and also why you only get 2 parties with any chance of representation, is your first-past-the-post system. Or plurality voting, wich is a more technical term. The UK have the same. But countries in Europe have a voting systems with proportional representation. In USA, I think only Maine and Nebraska does it like that.

Nice! It was the fact that Megan and Holly took the trip all the way down from B4 that made me think that they had something else planned, but I was wrong. I'm talking about elk being the orginal word for moose. Actually, it was the Britons who started to fuck it up. Older English elk, German elch, Scandinavian elg, Latin alces, all refered to this animal you Americans call moose today. But elk (moose) got extinct on Great Britain, so the Englishmen started using the word elk about big deers instead. When they came to America, where elk (moose) actually excisted, they continued to use the word elk about an American spieces of deer. Meanwhile you picked up the indian word moose for what was originally elk. You also picked up the word caribou from Indian languages. In Europe it was called reindeer.
