There has been a couple semi-professional russian singers on RLC and they all sound horrible in the exact same way to me, so maybe they just appreciate completely different sounds and notes in Russia? but I believe this Bill burr quote might be relevant..

You see girls like this all the time on singing audition shows, they think the judges are retarded because it's the first time they hear the truth, and they don't care because they know they're amazing singers 🙂
