Couples sleeping apart has become increasingly common: A 2012 survey by the Better Sleep Council and a 2017 survey from the National Sleep Foundation both showed 1 in 4 couples now sleep in separate beds. pulo filipe
Study says couples who sleep in separate beds have a better relationshipI t may sound strange, but that's what the data indicate. There are those who think that sleeping in separate beds is just for days of fighting or arguing, but according to a survey by the National Sleep Foundation, carried out in the United Kingdom, this is quite common: one in four couples sleep in different rooms or in beds separate. This "style" of relationship has been dubbed "bedroom divorce" and can even bring advantages to the relationship. Do you believe? Well, among all the factors that can interfere with a good night's sleep are snoring, body heat and little space - items that can be avoided when sleeping in a bed alone. A bad night's sleep can negatively affect our emotions and mood, generating discussions throughout the day. Still not convinced? Another study, now from the University of Berkeley, California, found that couples who have insomnia or difficulty sleeping tend to have fights with greater frequency and intensity. Of course - like everything - balance is needed. The method can be extremely beneficial for couples with different rhythms and sleeping habits, but everything needs to be discussed so that both feel comfortable and respected. So, are you on the team that sleeps in a shell or in the next room?
