I know nothing about Vista other than it's universally HATED.

I went from XP directly to Win7 (a surprising improvement).

However, since Vista is universally hated like Win8, I suspect it will never be supported by third parties properly. Sorry to say, you've got an orphan operating system on your hands.

I do not like the most recent versions of oCam. I also have one vista machine, but I do not know how the version 37.0 works on it, since I have moved back to version 29.0 from version 31.0.

the problem is ocam have a automatic updates for the new version and impossible skip this update.

j don't want this version 37.0 but impossible skip this update when j load ocam.j'm forced accept the new version but this version don't work for me

It is not impossible to skip that automatic update process, if you think how that update process works. You must deny oCam to access the internet.

The benefits:

- No delay during oCam start when a new version is available, because oCam no longer force you to download and install it

- Annoying ads removed

- You can update oCam when you want to, not when oCam wants to

- You can use the version that you want to

How I did it:

- Google and download the older version from the web

- Install it (at least I didn't have to remove the newer version first)

- End of the installation oCam starts automatically, close it IMMEDIATELY, before it checks whether a newer version is available

- Open the Windows Firewall and add a rule that denies oCam to access the internet

- Open oCam and enjoy

for information, the version 37.0 is done because they had some problem on some pc,

soo now j have download the new version from today 39.0 and that's work very good now and we have a new option,

we can move the screen during the recording, that's work perfectly, you just need put the mouse on the corner of screen for move the screen area where you want.

defenitly ocam is the best.j like very much this software and it's free.

I don't know how much of a difference 8.0 is over 8.1. I'm using 8.1 here under the recommendation of a fellow member from this board and love it.

When 10 is offered out of Beta form, I'll most likely update both the 8.1 and 7 machines to it.
