FWIW...I did stand-up once at the Improv on Melrose while I was in college. I did a quasi-Don Rickles routine. Just got up on stage and let it rip. Didn't do too badly but you have to be a special breed of nuts (with a dash of low self-esteem) to continuously face the crowd for several minutes day after day after...
