First the apartment went UM, then RLC deleted the footage of Nancy's meltdown. It came back online on the day that they were scheduled to return from the vacation, and went UM again when they extended the vacation.

Even if they are having an issue with their ISP, it isn't a server issue and isn't affecting the other apartments in the same building and that It seems that they are even on the same floor.

My whole point is that, the apartments don't have a server room, might not even have a PC to manage all the cams.

I was sort of responding to Moules post more than yours but simply adding weight to the fact that the Nancy event Cam Shut down wasn't due to a Technical issue.

I am not sure, but is it a crazy idea if I think that they won't come back?

Same "crazy" idea here, but I dont want to speculate anymore, since I was so wrong saying Annette wil  not come back some weeks ago.

They should come back today, lets see what happens.

One doesn't need a server room.  A closet will do.

What is a WebRTC server?

A WebRTC server is a computer that handles some aspects of establishing peer-to-peer connections, transmitting data, and maintaining connection stability for real-time communication. There are four key WebRTC servers:

  1. Media servers
  2. Signaling servers
  3. TURN servers
  4. NAT traversal servers

Generally speaking, WebRTC servers handle the process of negotiating a connection between two devices in a real-time conversation and managing the connection once it’s established. Most of the time, the communicating devices do most of the data sending and receiving. But if you're building your own WebRTC services, you need WebRTC servers to deliver reliable, high-quality real-time communication using WebRTC.

Does WebRTC need a server?

While WebRTC can function in certain scenarios without a server, it does require them for most real-world applications, especially those that operate over the internet. These servers help in tasks like navigating through firewalls, routing data beyond local networks, and ensuring stable and reliable communication.   Source link below:

WebRTC servers, or signaling servers, are responsible for establishing a connection between users. Learn more about WebRTC servers and if...

My understanding is that without WebRTC, each cam would connect directly through a router to a local area network and then to the Internet to RLC network servers.  This is okay for Rachel's bedroom.  It is likely not okay if one wants the video and audio streams  of 15 streaming cameras to be synchronized.

I have low confidence the site will be back today.

B-5 began experiencing tech issues -- similar to those that occurred in Sasha and Dasha's apartment -- at about 19:26 on August 2, and it is still U/M nearly 20 hours later.

Let me add that if you had individual cameras streaming over WiFi to a router /  LAN and then to the Internet, if one camera went off-line, I don't think the whole apartment would  be put U/M.

I asked DJT for his thinking on this.  He said, 'Leora and Paul were probably very upset at no longer being top cam, and not getting the money they are accustomed to.'

that's funny in itself in the fact that it couldn't be that people are tired of seeing leora and paul.  who is DJT?

B5 stopped streaming about 45 minutes before RLC set the apartment UM.

Reading the Forum B5 came back online between 12am and 1am until going UM again a 3-4 hours later so it hasn't been down for 20 hours straight. While there is no replay I did see it while up and all 4 were asleep in their beds.

BTW, when you have problems with the cams not turning green when live you should try closing RLC and starting a new tab as doing so usually solves the problem, well for me anyway.

B5 back online.
