luvdoggy1111 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago What I think is really disappointing is that RLC never informs their members about the situation at the villas now, it's only the UM sign. They could easily put a remark on that sign what the problem is and how long it will probably take (one hour, one day, a few days) to come back online. Maybe they don't know how long it will take but they could tell this to the members. When the apt of Sasha, Dasha and Nancy went offline for weeks they didn't inform the members either, I think this is a bit disrespectful. I know that they can't tell us everything but sometimes they could give us a bit more information how long an apt will be offline. Anyway, that's my opinion. 1 4 Quote

Agree, even if they don't know... it's not a reason to not communicate... but we all know communication is not their best 😛 1 Quote

The home page communications are very poor given how long RLC has been around, there is plenty of space to add a News box where they can post info on events such as this, vacations, arrivals and departures, 1 out of 10 for effort 🙄 1 Quote

moules Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I believe the internet connection to the villas is a fiber-optic cable. If that cable is cut damaged, it can take a considerable time to repair, and restore the connection between an individual user site and the network. Quote Repairing a fiber optic cable is highly technical, requiring specialized, expensive tools—like a fusion splicer costing thousands—and expert training, making it very difficult for DIYers. It involves precisely cleaning, stripping, and fusing microscopic glass fibers, or using mechanical splices, to avoid signal loss. Key Takeaways on Repair Difficulty: Professional Level Needed: The best method is fusion splicing, which uses an electric arc to weld glass fibers, requiring high-end tools and expertise. Alternative Method: Mechanical splicing is another option, but it often results in higher signal loss and lower reliability. DIY Feasibility: For home users, it is rarely cost-effective to buy the necessary tools, making it better to replace the cable or hire a professional. Exceptions: Plastic optical fiber (POF) is much easier to repair than glass. ^^^ Response generated by Google AI Quote
