This is only my view, but i remember it well and i still think the same. 

So, Elli and Vlad are happy and both meet guys. Sayn, and the one who is now with The Rack. On the last day, both are packing, happy and no problem. The new apt opens, and there is an immediate atmos. Rather than sharing the bed, Elli takes the couch. They barely speak until the last few days of Vlad's tenure. Soon as she leaves - Sayn moves in.

So, putting 2 and 2 together, i've always thought that when they left the last apt, Vlad was meant to move on - But something happened, which prevented her, so she had to stay on in the new place for a while. This meant Sayn couldn't move in yet, that pissed off Elli and she made her feelings clear. 

That's how i saw it.
