  1. That said, my editor nose couldn't let pass the silly error in MLB's Official Rules. I told them, of course, but since I wasn't getting paid to advise them.... we all know that volunteers are worth the money they're paid: 1.09 The ball shall be a sphere formed by yarn wound around a small core of cork, rubber or similar material, covered with two stripes of white horsehide or cowhide, tightly stitched together. It shall weigh not less than five nor more than 5 1/4 ounces avoirdupois and measure not less than nine nor more than 9 1/4 inches in circumference.

  3. Rows of houses, all bearing down on me I can feel their blue hands touching me All these things into position All these things we'll one day swallow whole And fade out again and fade out This machine will, will not communicate These thoughts and the strain I am under Be a world child, form a circle Before we all go under And fade out again and fade out again Cracked eggs, dead birds Scream as they fight for life I can feel death, can see its beady eyes All these things into position All these things we'll one day swallow whole And fade out again and fade out again Immerse your soul in love Immerse your soul in love
  4. The kid says “like 555 feet of poly / cotton thread.” But annoying, wonky people like your humble correspondent here, will tell you that there actually is 450 feet of poly/cotton finishing yarn in a regulation MLB “Official” baseball. For those of us who care, here are the actual details: There are 369 yards of yarn in a baseball. That’s 1,107 feet. Kid’s only 107 feet off, but he has his proportions all wrong: There are three layers of wool that are wound around the core of a baseball: first, 121 yards of four-ply gray yarn; second, 45 yards of three-ply white; and the third, 53 yards of three-ply gray. A layer of 150 yards of fine poly/cotton finishing yarn is wrapped around the ball to protect the wool yarn and hold it in place. His little video was informative, albeit not really accurate. And then again, he wasn’t exactly measuring as he went, and he had to finish his little Book Sales Job before his mom got home and found him using her 4” J.A. Henckels paring knife to fuck around with a baseball. But she wouldn’t be all that pissed, seeing as how he needs to do something to get rid of the 4,000 hard cover copies of his book which have already turned the family 2-car garage into a no-car garage.
  5. Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced on Friday the Department of Justice will investigate the Baltimore Police Department due to a “serious erosion of public trust” following the controversial death of Freddie Gray. Gray, a 25-year-old black man, died April 19 due to injuries he suffered while in police custody. Six Baltimore police officers have been charged with crimes ranging from unlawful imprisonment to murder, in connection with his death. Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake made a public plea on Wednesday for the DOJ take an active role in the case. “Today, the Department of Justice is opening an investigation into whether the Baltimore Police Department has engaged in a pattern or practice of violations of the Constitution or federal law,” Lynch announced at a press conference. She said the investigation will examine whether the department uses “excessive force, including deadly force, conducts unlawful searches, seizures or arrests and engage in discriminatory policing and, as you know, when you’re looking at me, you’re looking at country!”
  6. I cannot help but believe in free choice.
  7. Except maybe the tom cats.
  8. I had a hard time putting a like on this one. This girl bearing a striking resemblance to a bitch I once knew, who once told me that she adored me passionately, in much the same way I suppose that Delilah must have said to Samson,... "Ooooo, I just love your hair." You have good instincts, Woody. She also has a version of Horst Wessel Lied out. Hahaha.
  9. Thank you, tb. Here's a new observation from the University of California: AFFIRMATIVE ACTION STUDENTS BLOCK MERIT-ADMISSION STUDENT FROM GOING TO CLASS
  10. No way! The little doggie helps us tell if she has been sexually active in the recent past. Paul is all excited: he got a brand new pair of War Games trousers (they look 100% polyester) and is playing with them on their bed. Soon he will spend his requisite time with the Borscht Commandos..... again.
  11. So. Rita is fooling around in the kitchen, making stuff. She is dancing and bouncing about to some music that only she can hear. WTF? No, she is not wearing ear buds. And yes, the sound is "on:" we can hear her moving stuff around, banging things on the table, etc. No, there is no music coming from the living room. She even air-drums a percussion section. I don't get it.
  12. The trite saying that honesty is the best policy has met with the just criticism that honesty is not policy. The real honest man is honest from conviction of what is right, not from policy. -Robert E. Lee
  13. On ISLAM issues: People interested in learning more about how Islam has drifted from a predatory religion practiced by people with no money or power into the nightmare plague that now it has become, can get a current history and greater understanding by reading the following: Dr. M Zuhdi Jasser, PhD. (2010) A Battle for the Soul of Islam: An American Muslim's Fight to Save His Faith. In this a very readable, no nonsense American book which bases its understanding of the situation from an American point of view. As I have said in the past, one needs to distinguish between Muzzies (over there) and members of the American Muslim community (over here). There are mosques cropping up in the U.S. that extol the virtues of Muzzie bullshit and, falsely believing that they are practicing a legitimate "religion," we (the government) does not infiltrate these groups and take down the bad guys. Obama's problem is that he agrees with the Muzzies; Bush II had a similar problem, in that he saw all of Islam as a religion rather than what it really is: a predatory foreign political movement with almost no characteristics to distinguish itself from the NAZIs in the 1930s. "We treat all religions with respect," is a thought often expressed here in America. I agree with that. But I do not see this overseas Nazi 2.0 movement as a religion at all. It needs to be taunted, provoked, infiltrated, and slaughtered. If we sit around long enough the only remaining solution will be nuclear. There was actually very little chance we would nuke the Russians in the second half of the 20th Century. After all, they were pretty much like us, except that we had conflicting political points of view. They were not looking to die for Lenin and get an afterlife reward of 72 Svetlanas. But the Muzzies are different. They love death. They love killing for the sake of killing, hiding their bloodthirsty zeal behind some fake "religion." They need to be exterminated before they do the same to us. And that "us" includes American Muslims.
  14. Sorry. Posted in the wrong thread. As you were.

  17. Sure. Of course she's a nose breather if you keep her mouth full. Nasty bitch. We have thousands of them here on the West Side of The City of the One Night Stands. Santa Monica College or Pierce? Certainly not Ugly Caucasians Living with Asians! They have standards in the U.C. system. No wait! Ive got it: a sheltered program in Gender Studies at the University of Spoiled Children downtown! That explains the fawning over das untermensch.
