  1. Exactly …September 1944. And the harsh "Hunger Winter" of 1944/1945 that followed that defeat at Arnhem / Market Garden, mainly. France, Belgium & southern Netherlands (South of the Rhine & other big rivers) were already liberated by then, so they escaped the worst of the cold & famine (made worse because of occupation, rationing,...) of that winter. But most of the Netherlands is north of those rivers and they were kept occupied by the Germans until spring 1945 because of that defeat, and it turned out to be the worst winter of the war for them... But most of the Dutch-German rivalry of the generation born after the war has to do with football (soccer, for Americans). I think it started with the World Cup of 1974, or perhaps some matches in the 1960s already. A saying of those days was: "Football (soccer) is a game with 11 players on each side, and at the end of the game, the Germans win.". And that saying is still sometimes used today (at least, when the Germans win). That being said, the "animosity" shouldn't be overestimated too much: Dutch & Germans have no difficulties visiting each other's countries. For most people, it's mostly "friendly rivalry" now, comparable to USA (pre-Trump) vs Canada, Swedes vs Danes, Belgians vs Dutch, Portuguese vs Spanish, Northern Italy vs Southern Italy, or even between some cities within the same country (we all know those of our own countries)... In short: they're not effectively at each other's throats (anymore) since a long time.
  2. I am Dutch speaking (as you probably know), but I missed the whole thing & I still have a standard sub without replay... So sorry I can't translate...
  3. I supppose you meant "we can't insult"?... Or at least we "shouldn't"?... (judging from your other posts, at least) 😉
  4. Ada had a lot more to do with tearing apart Lunette's & Gelia's friendship than Kaya. Ada wants Lunette entirely to herself imo, and what Kaya did just presented an ideal opportunity for Ada to achieve that by turning the whole thing into a major drama. What was an ordinary fight, turned into the end of a friendship (for now at least). Gelia seemed to have been Lunette's last remaining friend, so Ada has Lunette completely to herself now, reducing the chance she'll ever leave her, as Lunette is totally out of Ada's league, and Ada knows it. That's why she's trying to isolate Lunette (and was already doing that before this whole thing; Gelia was Lunette's last remaining friend at that point). I think there's a good chance for Lunette & Gelia to become friends again, but only if/when Lunette is not together with Ada anymore.
  5. Yes. But if you already had a standard membership, it continues (at least for the time being). But the moment you cancel your subscription, you won't be able to get a standard membership anymore after that.
  6. Edit, for the sad emoticon: it was a joke! Do I really need to explain everything? Lol.
  7. I was just thinking that Perhaps Jen sold her into slavery to be abducted to a porta-potty party in Dubai or something...
  8. That's what I was afraid of... Thanks anyway!
  9. Does anyone here know the showering routines / times of the guest girl? I read she isn't cam-shy in the shower, but I just never caught her showering yet. I'm now starting to fear she'll leave before I get the chance to "happen upon her" in the bathroom (and I have no replay). So, any indications of her showering times would be most welcome! Thanks in advance! 🙂
  10. Gelia & Kaya (& most other tenants) are from the same war torn country as Lunette is. Perhaps Lunette's home town is occupied by the Russians and not the home towns of the other tenants?... No idea... In any case, this thing is not worth upsetting her friendship with Gelia for (though Ada may very much want her to, and is now succeeding at driving a wedge between both). I never knew Ada has been suicidal, but if that's indeed the case, her place really is not on RLC... At least not in a shared apartment. If Lunette ever wants to escape her control, Ada might emotionally blackmail her by threatening suicide... Not a good spot to be in...
  11. That's because Ada went totally apeshit mental at Gelia, and Gelia didn't just take it. Mind you, Ada knew perfectly well what she was doing imo: isolating Lunette from Gelia. And she succeeded (at least for now).
  12. If Lunette blames Gelia, it only proves how much she's under Ada's manipulative spell...
  13. Perhaps, but if not for Ada's amped up drama, no bridges would have been burned, I think.
  14. And I think Ada (and an unwitting Lunette, as she's subservient to Ada still) blows it up to gigantic proportions, for manipulative control reasons (isolating Lunette from any friends but Ada herself), and this was the ideal opportunity...
  15. A more general observation (not specifically B5, but all of the BCL places): A lot of tenants seem to have trouble living together / coexisting with others lately... : Jen (with Vivi) vs Tanya, then Jen vs Vira & Vivi, Jen also had a fight with Aya over Brandon iirc, Aya bickering with Brandon, Aya vs Kaya, Kaya vs Neytiri (or is that settled again now?),... Now of course Ada (& poor Lunette dragged along) vs Gelia & Kaya, and before Ada (& Lunette in tow...) vs Louisa & Enrique... Zara & Dana not fighting with others, but isolating from them, as they've always done, and with the current dramas, that's probably not changing anytime soon... 😕 Sometimes I think the forced isolation of Covid (2020-2021) during part of their formative years makes it now harder for young people to coexist in the same house several years later?... Then again, there were always cliques & feuds, so maybe this is just cheap psychology/sociology... But it was never as bad as presently, I think...
  16. Gelia is hardly to blame anyway. She probably just thought it wouldn't be a big deal, which it actually wasn't; Ada just makes it a huge deal because it allows her to isolate Lunette from Gelia (her last friend besides Ada herself?...). Manipulating your lover away from her friends, like Ada does, is much worse behaviour than letting a friend have sex on your roommate's bed & changing the sheets afterwards. Gelia was probably already asleep by the time Kaya & Lucky Boy were having sex. No one was probably quite sober anymore... She trusted Kaya not to steal anything & indeed she didn't (except some easily reimbursed wine) ... Nothing bad happened... Time to turn the page... Lunette seemed much happier without Ada anyway...
  17. If it wasn't for Ada's manipulative rage, I think Lunette & Gelia would succeed in being friends again. But I don't think Ada will let that happen... 😕
  18. "Catastrophizing!" A very creative use of language! 🙂 Most probably a made up word, but I like it when people do that! One can immediately grasp the meaning (even as a non-native speaker) too! Well done! 😄 All good here, too. 👍
  19. Probably because she was happier/had more fun with the girls in B1/B4 than when living with Ada in B5 as an isolated couple...
  20. I'm out of reactions, so I will only say I completely agree with you, Alladino & Elcondor concerning this matter.
  21. She wasn't there to ask, and it was in the middle of the night. Even if they would have been able to reach them, they'd probably have woken them up. I'd get more pissed off for being woken up for this than if they'd just used my bed in my absence & changed the sheets afterwards.
  22. She hated Louisa & Enrique as well. She's just not fit to live with others (just like Jen, I wonder how they'd coexist... I say move them to B1 to be with Jen 😁, & Vivi to B2, preferably with a returning Vira). Even better would be if Lunette just dumped Ada's drama ass, before she gets totally isolated. It may already be too late for that.
  23. I very often agree with you, but not here. All of their money is still there. Nothing of it disappeared, nor was there ever an intention to steal, making this whole "stealing" issue moot. No info was given to junkies on the street. Stealing was quite obviously the last thing on Kaya & Lucky Boy's mind when they borrowed the bed for their "emergency sex"... If stealing had been on their mind, they wouldn't have changed the sheets, making it obvious someone had been there, wouldn't they? They're really acting as if they never lived with roommates before. Especially Ada is making a mountain out of a molehill, probably for manipulative reasons to isolate Lunette from any friends but herself. They already had become quite boring to watch (no visitors, no social life with Ada being the boss), so it would not be a disaster if this hyped up drama made them leave. I only feel sorry for Lunette and Gelia, as Ada grasps this opportunity to drive Lunette away from Gelia with both hands. Lunette might end up lonely & isolated, totally dependent on "isolator" Ada. Ada knows very well what she's doing by amping up this drama over basically nothing imo. She reminds me of controlling & isolating boyfriends of the type of Tim, however different they may be otherwise.
  24. Not to mention that, had they shot L&A a text (and let's be fair here, mainly Ada, as she's "the boss" in the relationship it seems), they'd probably would have woken them up in the middle of the night (I would get more annoyed by this than about them using my bed, lol)!... Or not have been able to reach them anyway because of the time. And the situation was "urgent", after all! 😉
  25. Way to go moving the goalpost a few miles! 🙄 There were 2 people in that room, not 50. Let alone a party. I've lived with roommates in the past. When someone wasn't there, and someone else had guests spend the night, it was never an issue to borrow an absentee bed. No one acted squeamish about that. You can't live with roommates without being somewhat easy-going in this regard. And I'm not talking about parties with people getting drunk & spilling/breaking things. That's something different entirely.
