Hi Harley,all my life I have often wondered about the origins of Thanksgiving in America until just recently I happened on a TV programme(History channel) about the Mayflower and the trials and tribulations these people had on their journey to this great "new world".On their landing and subsequent settlement at Plymouth it was there that they invited the native indigenous people(Wampanoag tribes I believe) for a feast and celebration and therein lies the origin of "Thanksgiving".I realise of course you guys know all this but I just thought I would write this to let you know that I for one actually understand what the day is truly all about. You and yours have a good day. 1
