Ozi
Been practising my Arabic. Don't think I'll have time for the whole language, so sticking to critical phrases like اللعنة، نحن بالكامل. على أرض الواقع، والوجه لأسفل بالك لام. إيقاف أو أنا سوف تبادل لإطلاق النار، عذراً اعتقدت السلامة كان على. Pronunciation is getting better and I figure I'll get plenty of practice. Sorry, basic translation: - Fuck off we are full, - On the ground, face down mother fucker and - Stop or I'll shoot, sorry I thought the safety was on. Foamy T. Squirrel
Arabic is difficult. I'm lucky. I only need to learn Mexican Spanish. They write in Roman letters. On the other hand, we might both need to learn Mandarin...that's going to be painful...
Ozi
My shout if you can guess the language. No takers for the language? That was a cheap round. I know it would have been hard to try a translator as it was a jpeg, but it wouldn't have helped. Had me confused till my wife translated it for me, its Pitmans shorthand. A lost art I would imagine. We don't mess around at Old Dudes... Always have a contingency plan. Morse might be plan d or even e but it's still in the equation. But if we get to that stage for comms we are truly fucked, besides it's only the old dudes that would know what it was. I worked with some Army pilots awhile ago who couldn't read a map, they reckoned that's what GPS was for. Their contingency plan was spare batteries! I've got a magnetic compass, a slide rule, and a very nice mechanical typewriter. And a metal lathe that a squirrel cage could power. I'm set. I can kick ass.
