It seems that Shantal and Wolf know each other so I guess it is safe to assume he was referred to RLC by Shantal. 

This makes me wonder if he is her friend or her off cam boyfriend ?

I have seen him before I think and yes she seems to be close to him in some capacity. Not sure about boyfriend though...she's got more chance of pulling potato's from the ground than pull him.
