Carol left at 0826. At 0840 the cat going into the bathroom, while trying to reach for his ball that it was playing with it shuts the door, and now it's stuck in there.

My cat purposely closes himself into the bathroom sometimes, I've watched him do it.  He does it because it has a strong vent for heating/AC.   So he'll turn the room into his own personal sauna/refrigerator.
