Most of us know what a pisser Paul is.  We also know his functionality is extremely limited.
 

What I find irritating is how Leora's face lights up whenever he wants sex.  She is so desperate...craving  for any intimacy he will show her, she doesn't mind getting herself and him off simultaneously as long as he gives her some physical attention.   It's as if it verifies why they are together.
 
She can do better.

If she took it all in her mouth and swallowed, there would be no need for a tissue. But she doesn't do that anymore because she's living on her past reputation.

I wonder if she has some twisted form of Stockholm Syndrome.  AI overview says it's a "psychological coping mechanism where victims of captivity or abuse develop a paradoxical, positive emotional bond with their captors. It is an unconsious survival strategy rather than a choice, typically involving sympathy, loyalty, and a shared worldview between the victim and abuser."

I have thoughts or speculations of why Leora chose Paul but i think the only answer why she is still with him - comfort zone. The world appears too big for her to manage and navigate on her own. Her introvert personality is the major roadblock but many other factors play into Leora's lack of self improvement. All of us together can build a long list of what holds Leora back from doing better BUT she is unwilling to change. Basically, her life IS Paul (and Eva, for now).

Yes, Leora definitely can do better, in our minds only, but she chooses not to improve herself and wholeheartedly accepts life with hermit low sex drive Paul.
