If the difference between two 5 second snapshot jpeg of each camera is beyond certain threshold, they change the gif file indicator. The gif can include some small fancy sonar animation, so people think this is a high end algorithm. As an alternate option, they can do it based on social data. Means the text color of each camera changes based on number of people looking at it. They can charge an extra 3$ monthly based on these type of add-ons.
