    I understand your thoughts here, but we don't know what their arrangement is with the Russian people who occupied the apartments. They may still be looking after them, i.e. paying them a stipend until they make other arrangements. I think RLC will add more apartments in the near future. I stopped my subscription a few months ago because they are so poor at Customer Service and communication. Even since the loss they have not be forthright with communication to members. Shame on them but having had a subscription since Nov 2013 they have never changed even though they went through a few management changes.

    Friend, RLC had nothing to do with the removal of the Russian sites. The Russian government implemented a new Internet Policy that removed the live stream capability. They did this through the companies that provide everyone with Internet access. I thought the policy was not to take effect until 11-1-2019, but obviously they implemented this part earlier.

    Thank you. Someone had mentioned Russia was making some sort of changes to their internet requirements. Perhaps this is why. I can tell you China requires we put a "device" between our firewall and the ISP providing service. I'm sure they are capturing the data packets and looking at the information.

    Just for clarification …. I am certain they use more than 1 "server/ piece of hardware". And numerous Virtual Machines (VM's)on each "server". One top line high powered server/host machine can cost in excess of $30,000 that will allow you to have multiple VM's on each piece of hardware/ Host. Plus these devices are likely joined together in a cluster of "servers" for redundancy. Restarting them in a certain order is likely very important depending on the extent of the issue.That is all.

    As an update I never received an email. After a week I sent another requesting a reply as a "courtesy" to a long time subscriber of RLC (more than 5 years). They did not do me the courtesy of a simple reply. It is just one of the reasons I cancelled my subscription.     I understood perfectly and certainly agree with you. I have family members who come and stay with me often. They are younger and I can't begin to tell you the number of times I have to tell them to put away their mobile phones and tablets so we can talk. So I agree.     They do have uses. I have carried one since 1994 when I spent many hours in wiring closets setting up circuits for companies wanting Internet service eventually working for the ISP's helping them troubleshoot their circuits. I would go through up to four batteries a day and my phone bill was more than $1200/ month, which I did not have to pay thank goodness. And I am so mobile these days I need it as my primary line. In some areas where I live I have a landline only because of the Security systems.
