About three years ago, when I first became a paid member, I had a
conversation with Stone Cold, Forum Admin. He said the accepted
method for saying 'thank you' was to click the heart and give the
person a 'like'. A text 'thank you' was neither required nor expected.

So, ever since then, every time I've downloaded something, I clicked
the heart to give that person a 'like' and say 'thank you'.

Maybe, since a text 'thank you' isn't required or expected, and certainly
not before he downloads the item, he's waiting until he can download
the file before he clicks the heart to say 'thank you'.
