Thestarider
ed, I was on State championship debate team in high school. I enjoy a good honest discussion of differing views on a subject. I do not in any way take it personal. You are of course right, that we see things quite differently, but at the same time our goals, desires, and wants for the people of our countries are very much alike actually. ed our biggest differences are very simple. You are a firm believer in socialism, not that it is like a dictator communism socialism, but what I like to call European socialism. I am a capitolist, and a firm believer in capitalism. I believe that the harder you work and apply your skills in this world the more financial your rewards will be. I do not want my government to regulate or over tax what I have worked my entire life to achieve. I will not rely on the government to take care of me in any way, most especially in my retirement. I have paid well over $350,000 to my personal social security account. It will take me 18 years to draw that money I have paid into my account, and that will begin at age 67, and that means I would run out of what I have paid in only if I live to be 85 yrs old. I am not sure what you said about FDR is true or not, as yes he is one of many great Presidents we have had over the years. The greatest is and will always be open to debate depending upon you and your political views. As for of us Americans these days we lean independent and do not vote along party lines, but vote for who we think will represent us the best. Infuriately in the house and senate it does not work that way anymore, and has become very divided, and they most always vote along party lines no matter if they agree or they do not agree, that is until we have a crisis, then we all believe that we have no party affiliations and believe we are Americans, Then and only then do they do what is in the best interest of the American people. The corona virus is and example of this, and so was the 911 crisis. There are many more examples, but I believe you get my point. I think we should have term limits on both the House and the Senate of two terms, just as we do for President.
