Can't blame members for not following VHTV or it's forum. Their product has changed drastically and not for the better. Both VHTV and RLC are tied for last place among these two voyeur cam sites - lol.

who's in first ?

That is the sad reality - no other site is first, second, third or fourth. Camarads and voyeurhouse.com are not worth a rating. It appears that this fad of real life voyeur cam sites is waning and no new sites on the horizon. To me, both VHTV and RLC are suffering self-inflicted wounds and resulting in a long recovery or not at all.

Yeah, you're probably not wrong about that... And you know, I was thinking, back in the days when we had webcams in our house (a true voyeur experience, nothing staged or faked), we actually didn't advertise, so we were quite hard to find.. so it went word of mouth really.. We were not in it for the money, so we didn't care about having thousands of viewers... we were quite happy with the few dozens of regulars.  One of them became my best man when we got married. 🙂  But yeah... either there are some nice sites not being advertised, or nobody is interested in taking the abuse that comes with having such a site for free... LOL!

Edit: I just had a look at the wayback machine, and our site was archived back then, but sadly no pictures available...

Wish that I knew about your site back then. Kinda funny that most, if not all, voyeur cam sites that first opened up were of the original real life voyeur type set up. Then they progressively got worse (even camarads with tenants doing camming on the side for extra money).

As you said above - real life - "true voyeur experience, nothing staged or faked". That is the voyeur tease.

I can't remember who it was now (that was a long time ago) but we were approached to join a "group of like minded people", basically one pimp on top cashing in, and a few cammers like wife and I using their platform to stream.  We politely declined after looking at their site for less than 2 minutes.  From what I recall, it looked like all those other sites (Cam4, chaturbate, etc), where all of a sudden, we had to live naked, or near naked at all time, and provide daily performances.  That's not who we were.  Sure, there was a fair bit of nudity (because that's how we live our day to day life, cams or not), but there was no "guaranteed minimum" of anything.  There were times when there was probably nothing going on for a couple of days, besides a couple living their usual life, going to work during the day, coming home, doing the normal house stuff people do (cleaning, cooking, laundry).

Now, like I said before, we had our few dozen regulars, and we had other people coming in and out and probably never returning because we were not their cup of tea, and that's quite alright.  We just refused to become "one of them".  When we decided to shut down it wasn't because of a lack of interest, but rather, we bought a house in a small town where internet was shitty at best, so there's no way we would have been able to stream with that. (think the old dialup speeds).

I think the key thing is, we offered who we were, we didn't cater to everybody's needs and wants, we didn't change or adjust anything we did in our life because of the cameras.  And to be honest, when we started that, we didn't expect much.. we thought we'd get a couple of people popping in here and there, but we never thought we'd have people staying on for hours at a time, watching us have our life.  That was quite special.  And because of the crowd we attracted, our forums and chatrooms were always very respectful.  If someone got out of line, we didn't have to do anything, other viewers would jump at their throat. 🙂

Oh the good days....

Oh the good days....

Sounds very much like the original RLC. We were able to watch mainly couples living a normal life, most had jobs (even husband and wife both worked), only a few cams installed with one or two free cams, rare to catch nudity, some bare ass or quick view of boobs, similar type voyeur teases and sex happened when they were in the mood. Nothing done intentional for the cams. We actually felt like we were voyeurs to them and as if the cams were not there. Your setup appeared to be quite similar to the old RLC.

By the way, the first few years of RLC they had normal average looking next door neighbor type tenants. Now it is all about fake models, porn stars, cammers, anything for a free apartment and extra money plus willingness to intentionally show nudity and unlimited sex directly for the cams.

Now all the voyeur cam sites are crap. Now you see it but the voyeur thrill is not happening. No imagination necessary because it is in-your-face nudity and sex. Truthfully, you can't say that these are "voyeur" cam sites anymore. They are "performance" sites with an exorbitant amount of cams position all over the apartments so everything is viewable.

I've just realized why neither RLC or VH can never become a true voyeur site now.  And that came after a conversation with some close friends (who were not familiar with either site, but I showed them...)  They asked, "Given the opportunity, would you join either of those site? And why or why not?"

I didn't have to think very long: No! And for a very simple reason. I would not want us to be associated or compared with the rest of the rooms. We definitely would not be a good fit with the rest of the crowd, so we would not associate, for fear or being somehow pushed to become like "them" either by being convinced by managers, or by simply blending in slowly but surely.

The problem really comes down to offer and demand. And despite the handful of people that would like voyeur apartments, the majority does not, otherwise both those sites would have to shut down due to lack of funds. So the demand really is for "cam stars" and chaturbate, and wanking/fingering 3 inches from the cameras, and sex parties and all that..  People are asking for fake voyeur,  and they're getting what they're asking for.  It has been said in one of the forum before that (going from memory here, I could be wrong, but you'll get the idea) some "in charge" person I think from VHTV basically said that they're making money with the site as-is, there's no need to change anything.

Any now, RLC seems to have adopted a model where they lock all the cams for non-paying members, with the unlocking of some random empty room from time to time, and VHTV has adopted the idea that the more rooms they have, the more customers they will attract.  And lately, I have a feeling they have some staff hanging out at MFC and CB and bringing people over to their project from there.  That way, they can still cam and keep that income, and by doing it on VHTV premises, VHTV benefits from that secondary income.  The cam people still get their same original cam income, and now they can add a little bonus via VHTV, and obviously VHTV get their cut from that.  It's not a bad idea when you think about it.  I mean, it's still garbage from my point of view, but some like it..

Good write up. For VHTV their model works for them, subscribers like it so nothing will change - only get worse. For all these sites, the greed of money, and wanting even more money has stopped the old style voyeurism in it's tracks. For us that don't like how these voyeur cam sites have progessed then we just have to find our own voyeur teases. I have but do miss the original RLC.
