Sorry, remind me, Veronica does not speak English either?
That would suck big time, but she would have known that ahead of time I’m sure.

When she entered the kitchen where the other girls were sitting, she said, "Hola'.  That would suggest she doesn't speak even rudimentary English.  IMO, she should take the opportunity while she iis living in B-4 to study English  Martina studied Russian so she could communicate with those whose English was poor.

Why? She is spanish, she is in Spain, she talks spanish…

Other girls should take the opportunity to learn spanish… The langage of the country where they are living, some for more than one year…

I say hola sometimes. Lol

So I only speak English and that’s all. I’ll never criticize anyone who can’t and have respect for most of those who have more than one language.

But it sounds like you can’t go wrong knowing English, not that it’s great, it’s just common.  And what @thereala78 says about the others learning Spanish, I think that’s a good idea. If I lived in Spain I would do my best.

According to AI, Students study English as a compulsory language in Spanish schools, beginning in the first grade.  Some subjects, in the sciences, are taught only in English.  Given that, I don't know why she can't communicate In English.  Perhaps the study of English was required after she matriculated.

Exactly, i fully agree with this. She is in Spain, speaking Spanish, it's not on her that in order to communicate with other girls she should start learning English a bit (well learning is always good, so if she wants to learn English just for her own good then sure do it). It's on the other girls who have entered Spain and can't speak Spanish, they should learn some Spanish. It's all about trying and a hunger to learn something new. Veronica is not in wrong one bit here.

However, i do like that Veronica doesn't come across as a rude person to others that she doesn't talk or just sit with them for some time. Whenever she enters a kitchen, she says Hola and smiles at them meaning she is friendly to them and acknowledges their presence. I like that.

We really don't know whether she studied in any English speaking schools or something like that. I am not even going there. If Veronica wants to learn English while living in Spain for her own benefit, she should do that since it can do her good in long run. But it cannot be forced on her that she should learn English to communicate with other girls while they are all in Spain. More effort lies on other girls in this case. But since there is a majority of girls who are from Russia/Ukraine/Eastern Europe they don't really think of learning Spanish since they are in a comfort zone.

I just think Veronica is not in the wrong here. She is living in Spain speaking Spanish.

She is not Spanish, as opposed to Buki who is...

[I am assuming Veronica is a Spanish citizen.  I am also assuming she attended Spanish schools when the study of English was compulsory.  (The compulsory study may be for a ten-year period.)]

Edited.  ^^^^^^The above paragraph is no longer accurate, as she is from south America.]

If she uses Spanish exclusively when communicating with girls who speak little or no Spanish, that suggests to me that she is not interested in having a conversation with them.  Most or all of the RLC girls from Ukraine are fluent in Ukrainian, Russian, and a third language, the last being one with a non-Cyrillic alphabet, and which likely will be Hungarian, Polish, English.  44 percent of the adults living in the European Union have fluency in English even though English is the official language of only two EU member states:  Ireland and Malta,
