Maybe. But the rush to remove Chilli and Karina tells me that other tenants are coming and can't wait. If it was a renovation, it could have waited for Sav to return from her trip and all leave together or even do the renovation with them inside, like they did in the kitchen.

She could have traveled back with an empty suitcase and saved herself the cost of buying a new one. She arrived last night with a small bag, similar in size to what she would take if she was going to a store or to the beach. I don't believe she flew back with only that.

Maybe she did / could have but she would almost certainly have had to pay baggage fees to bring the empty case back with her and a new case is probably cheaper. The holdall she brought would probably passed as hand luggage for no extra cost.
