The Hot Seat Discussion

Q: What is the Hot Seat?     A: The Hot Seat is when a member receives a warning and is temporarily banned from making any further postings for a set period of time. During this time, they will be listed under the Hot Seat category. (Each trip to The Hot Seat their stay becomes longer each time they're added)

Previously when members got a warning, they only see the warning and the amount of penalty received. 

The Objective: The goal is to display members here so others can see, with the hope of discouraging any further nefarious behavior. This could encourage the offending member to adjust their actions, become more responsible, and show respect for others’ posts, rather than dragging others down because the disagree with what others have posted. 

Infractions that will get a trip to the Hot Seat:  Constant trolling of other members posts with Off Topic Banter with the only intention of being a shit disturber, Flaming with other members, abusive language toward other members, etc...

Please read the rules of the forum and check them periodically as changes are sometimes made.

Just to be clear though 'Rants & Flame Wars' is included so that members aren't mean to each other right?

The only place to call someone out is in Rants & Flames; anywhere else in the forum will be handled differently. It’s time to bring some civility back to the community.

Every member has the right to post in the forum, whether they’re right or wrong. The real problem starts when discussions go off the rails, drift off topic, and turn into personal attacks. Starting January 1st, that’s going to change for all topics except Rants and Flames.
