skipp Posted August 10, 2013 Share Posted August 10, 2013 this is just a theory though. it seems to me like all the tenants know what's up with the other rooms. in fact, i think someone caught one of them surfing rlc at one point. my theory is that they are paid based on commission on how often and for how long paid members view their rooms. maybe they even get a bonus if someone signs up after watching their room for a long time. i think this because i've notice that after leora and maya showed up, it seems like the girls are trying harder to be sexy and "open" so it would attract us to watch them more. they saw how sexy leora and maya are, and they're trying to up their game so to speak to attract more clients. what do you guys think? I agree with this theory. It's pretty clear to me that all the characters know of the cameras. (RLC itself says that the hosts know and that it would be illegal if they didn't; I would think this would apply to the guests, too.) Some of the sex scenes involved the hosts deliberately keeping the bed cover over themselves--clearly desiring to avoid the camera at the time. RLC probably suggests that the people wear sexy clothes (or be nude) but tells the couples to avoid nudity and sex generally in the free rooms--so that viewers will pay to see the bathrooms and bedrooms. I doubt that in real life they would wear such sexy clothes as much as they do in RLC. They must be paid based on getting viewers to view them--and they probably get paid more based on revenues generated--which means doing things in the bathrooms and bedrooms. If you are correct, that would explain why Olga and Serge were so poor. Most of their sex was under covers...when Olga gave in and HAD sex with Serge. I don't blame her too much, though. She certainly never got anything out of it with him. The best the viewers ever got was seeing her wash in the tub. She wasn't shy about showing everything there. Besides, we've had people like Alma's finger flipping friend making it obvious they know they're there. I've wondered if there is some kind of notice posted on the door stating entry constitutes permission or some shit. I saw Alma check out RLC when they first moved in. and I highly suspect Stefan of doing a little spying on his own bathroom cam. ( A hot girl in your shower with a cam broadcasting, wouldn't you peek if you had the chance?) The pay based on view counts theory is interesting, but if that were true, I would think there would be a little more camera teasing. I can't see some being this camera-shy if it meant more money. Walking around in your underwear at home isn't uncommon, even naked. It's been like that for decades. We need to quit trying to compare European lifestyles with American morality hangups. When nudism & clothes-optional beaches are common place, what you wear in your own apartment ain't no big thing, even with company. Sex still tends to be a private thing more or less, isn't it with you? Every couple has gone at it in full view, we can't really complain if they want privacy sometimes. Ariel & Harvey are the only ones I have ever thought of as putting on a performance. Every time it looks like a porn video. Of course, that's just my worthless opinion. The cameras are on all the time 24/7 no need for lights or sounds indicating that. Any "on" lights would be lit up always. The only thing that turns on & off is your connection to RLC (except for the annoying night vision clicking on and off). There are no indicators to inform them whether someone is watching or not. The 2 most vivid memories are Alina and her guy and Might Mouse and her 'tough guy kick the kitten a-hole'. A&A were making it on the living room floor and about a second after I clicked on, they covered up and quit. Mighty Mouse and tough guy were going at it like bunnies on the couch one night.
