The whole point is that they don't communicate with us. They don't have to tell us anything and whatever Kitek translates is what they say that anyone can hear. We are not part of their life only viewers of their apartment when they are there. That is a big difference. Just like you watch a TV show and see what they show you - but not what the actors do off location.
