  1. Spying1 --I think you meant to be posting all the political "humour" in this thread
  2. Guess there is one male in the universe who does(trying to understand women) 😏
  3. Based on this opinion, to which I agree, then obviously the person or persons who designed the model wanted to show the worst possible outcome, which then would make those in power or those using those models to assert the most drastic measures possible--which they did--a lock down of the world. But as the models numbers projections decreased, as data improved as some would advocate, the question then should be asked: as the numbers project a marked decrease of death based on our new model, then why were not the strictest confinement measures also relaxed and new measures adopted to protect those most at risk and allow the world to begin to rebuild the economies that were being destroyed???? Why keep up the fear rhetoric???
  4. I never stated that old people should be sacrificed--and I do not appreciate the fact that you misquoted me or even made that assumption. You were talking statics and I provided other possible scenarios. Since you/we are discussing France, it is a possibility that almost the entire population was infected by Covid19 (but we would have to do a serology test for all of France to know the number). If that were true, then it would logically be true that selective measures to protect the vulnerable ,which we know through observations, would have been far better and allow the majority of the population to continue living as normal. Taking precautions did not mean that we had to shut down the entire world- However, as with any pandemic or large illnesses, there will be those who pass--and that cannot be avoided. In the beginning, measures were taken to not over whelm the health systems--that has been accomplished for the most part. Since there is no way that we can eliminate all death due to this pandemic and others--it now seems that is what the governments and "professionals" want to try and accomplish and insist the only way is to continue to isolate, social distance, and be patient. IMO, I disagree with that position and I think that it is time to return the world to a more normal existence, but still use some measure of protections again for those most a risk.
  5. It is understandable that you are wondering, I miss her too 😏
  6. You already, according to these statistics, have more deaths than the 6% mortality you quote. The thing is you are assuming that the 115,000 people who have the virus is an accurate figure. I submit that based on future testing, that number is far greater, and therefore your mortality % would be a lot less. And stating that a lot of people still who would die from this virus if it weren't for containment may be true to a point---but out of those people that would or could die, some maybe would have died anyway. The article below (read the article) states that the mortality rate in France in 2018 was 9.2% or 601,000 deaths and continues to increase. That is a lot more than the 20,000 deaths due to Covid19 or the prediction of the numbers that might have died with the virus-with no containment. • Number of deaths in France 2004-2018 | Statista WWW.STATISTA.COM From 2004 to 2018, the total number of deaths in France has been increasing, reaching 601,000 in 2018 compared to 509,429 deaths fifteen years earlier.
  7. So far, IMO, the models and the statistics that have been reported were grossly wrong--and that is the basis for the ridiculous numbers of deaths that were originally predicted. I also believe that the "second wave" can also be false overstatement of the predicted outcome for mortality. This is getting ridiculous. I it always sad to lose lives, to see anyone die, but the fact is that more people died in a year from causes other than Covid19 and that based on new serology data, the percentage of deaths vs the number of cases, is actually very low. Destroying the economies of the world due to an over-reaction by "the professionals" and governments can be far worse for humankind than the virus itself.
  8. Come on Rob--it's not what is on the outside that counts---it is what is underneath the ink that counts 😏
  9. And IMO she looks a lot better---except for her breasts are too big now for her.
  10. She is the internationally famous hairstylist--- surely she is all over the internet by now 😏
  11. I think she has at least one--butt it could also be classified at times as a pain in the ass 😏
  12. Where is the stupid and crazy thread??? 😏
  13. That is exactly right. Have been doing taxes for years and when I explained it to my employees most decided they wanted a tax refund (a forced savings for them) otherwise they would spend it all (which they end up doing anyway). Most people think when they get a refund, they didn't pay any taxes. They do not realize it is not the amount of your refund but the amount the Government kept from your withholdings. 😆
  14. And if this article is correct, Covid deaths, because any death is a sad event, is a mere drop in the bucket . But at what price do we kill the economies of the world and place even a more strain on human life?? It’s true these things kill more people each day than Covid-19 has so far FULLFACT.ORG Cancer, diabetes, and snake bites all cause more deaths than Covid-19 has so far.
  15. The problem as I see it, as you stated above, is a lot of people are just not very articulate or have a problem writing down their thoughts or arguments. That is why a lot just post links to articles - and you are correct in saying most only read the headlines and do not even bother to read the body of the article (the ones who post it and sometimes the ones who react to it). There is nothing wrong with copy and pasting someone else's article or thoughts to supplement your own ideas as long as that person who you are quoting is given credit and the one posting is not plagiarizing (passing it on as if it were their own words).
  16. I have notice lately that all you mods get paid quite a lot--but it isn't compliments 🤣
  17. StnCld---Now you can move these to this topic
  18. If you want to say or post anything about President Trump or Trump--here is the place to do it.
  19. I thought this thread was about North Korea---guess I was mistaken 😏 so here is your chance--a new thread for some of you to enjoy
  20. Actually, you have people dying all the time even with the world economy in good health. The current statistics (at least in some parts of the USA) due to serology testing indicate that many more people have been affected by Covid19 that current numbers indicate. In fact, the effective death rate would be .01% of all persons affected. There are countries such as Sweden and Belarus that have not shuttered there economies, but do not have extremely high deaths.
  21. Most everyone can see what you are trying to do---most of the time your posts maybe include a word or two that reference corona or coronavirus--but that inclusion does not make the majority of your post, which contain mostly a political message is not acceptable in this thread.
