I suppose it might be something to do with stopping the other from entering the bathroom during a time of privacy so if A was in the bathroom taking a dump and B wanted to get something from the bathroom and went to get it, then B wouldn't have to be confronted by A in a nasty moment better than A having to shout through the apartment "B, don't use the bathroom for 5 minutes, I am taking a shit, and will shout you again if it takes longer than 5 minutes" Isn't any of this obvious? are there really people who don't know this? Is this really so obscure or is the op just trolling
