Discussion: 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) #1

Thought I'd do my bit. I've just signed up as an NHS Volunteer Responder...It's nothing earth shattering, I just shop and deliver food, meds and other essentials to the 1.5M most at risk folk who are house bound for 12 weeks...They're checking me out first before I get the all clear...I retired too long ago to actually work in the lab again, although I might still get a call like another of my ex work colleagues...๐ Fortunately I didn't tick the box asking ' Have you any strange hobbies' ...so I should be ok lol...๐ They wanted 250,000 but they got that number in 24 hrs!! It's off the scale now! At 8 pm tonight, there was a minutes applause for all our NHS staff who are in the firing line. It was surreal...many folk on our housing estate standing outside in the street clapping...but pretty emotional, tell you the truth...One of my daughters is a midwife in Newcastle...โค๏ธ -

Boris is gonna review the current situation in 3 weeks time, to see if it's working. Personally I think he'll need to tighten screw well before then, judging by all the people going to work on the London Underground this morning...๐ -

I don't know about other countries, but in UK, there seems to be several ongoing trials. I don't know the exact details, so I won't make any shit up. but 1 involves a ยฃ3000 payment to be shut in a room for 14 days...I think they're given a weak derivative of COVID-19, and are maybe checking clearance levels at 14 days...but that's just a guess... -
All these girls in all the GOV apts are starting to look really bored, imo...and I'm getting bored watching them, tbh...๐

Boris latest tonight... Still not total lock down, but very limited reasons to leave house. Essential shopping such as food. All 'essential' shops not selling food to shut 1 form of exercise/day only...Walking Ted will obviously be mine ๐ Medical reasons Work Police intervention a possibility when people aren't adhering to it...and there will be some, sadly...It will be reviewed at a later date to see if its working -
They're all young fit and healthy, so I reckon, if they have symptoms, they might feel rough for a few days, and the others in the apt will need to self isolate for 14 days...they're locked down in Spain anyway, so that shouldn't be a problem...
