We'll, life is short and we must enjoy those things we can earn and acquire. I prefer the things I can repair or re-machine, but now these days signify me as being obsolescent. Car computers, OHV, and fuel injection are beyond my squirrelly reach. But I have always loved good engineering and fine machines, and the new machines, thanks to technology, are amazingly more durable, safer, and efficient. Mind you, the same thing happened with bicycles and aircraft. Now, tell me about the ribs and how you do it. Unlike automotive enthusiasm, that one is pure art.

Harley --- Great thread, Harley. Keep up the good work. I always wanted a pick-up because they are so damn useful. As for your car, it's gotta be fun as hell to drive. Best of both worlds.

Here's the piece of crap I drive now: ()

The kid's got a '79 Corvette. My dream car is a fully restored Spitfire Mk 2. I bought one in '72 for $500 and drove it for 25 years. Gutless wonder, but a hell of a chick magnet.

HFB......Say what you want thread!!
Foamy T. Squirrel replied to HarleyFatboy's topic in Rants & Flame Wars
Sorry, I just caught up with the comments on this hilarious thread. I had to take a break and deal with reality. So I'll just leave this here. At little comic relief always cheers me up. -

Personally, I follow the older apartments. I never much like hanging out with "models." They don't really know how to do auto body work, sew, knit, do jigsaw puzzles, and they don't read Schopenhauer. I never got off on Fredrick's of Hollywood or Victoria's Secret catalogs. An occasional round of Twister is worth watching, however. I'm cool with that. -

-It's OK to criticize action of tenants, just explain WHY in a logical manner. We don't like food fights erupting in the apartment threads. The Rules say as much. -Feel free to disagree with me at any time. I'm reasonable, unless I'm busy banning spammers in which case I don't want to deal with petty shit. -I was actually approved by Admin and it was put up for a vote. A democratic-republic procedure in action. My use of aspirin has increased a thousand-fold since I took this thankless job. -StnCld, on the other hand, was anointed by the Flying Spaghetti Monster and therefore rules via Divine Right. I think he must be on a morphine drip by now. -I promise to slap Euromike upside the head for you. Can I borrow your face to do it with? I don't want to get my Fisher-Price Ban Hammer dirty. -

Wait a minute! This is the only forum where I don't have to do my goddamn Mod-thing. And it's just now getting interesting. Viva Rants & Flames! -

A certain member seems to have gotten another member's testosterone flowing. I like Rants & Flames because I can sit this one out, and enjoy the entertainment... -
Most of us Mods have malware and ad blockers (obviously, or we would have our systems utterly destroyed by now). Sometimes we cannot see such adware or unwanted ad links. Please note that openload.co has ads (as Itsme stated and properly warned us) but openload.co also has obviously gotten a take-down order from RLC or someone else, so there will be many dead links. Posts made to CC servers by CC Premium Members stay alive and can be viewed by Premium CC members.

Games & Recreation for Gentlemen & Ladies
Foamy T. Squirrel replied to Foamy T. Squirrel's topic in The Old Dudes Board
I'm a poor little stupid squirrel, so help me out here. I know it's not chess or cribbage. What game is this? And is it fun? Are a female with exposed tits required for the opponent? If so, I'm game (though I'd probably be distracted and lose the game every time!)- 23 replies

We must protect the guests of the tenants too. Some of these tenants have been stalked in the real world by real world creeps and CC does not want to be a source of information for these perverts. Hence, we can make up names for guests, such as "Doe Eyes" in the Nina & Kira apartment. We try to do that with pets, too, because RLC does not assign them names. "Miss X" is good, especially if you've studied algebra -- but a reference to the RLC Rita (the former RLC tenant, Euromike's wife), then that is acceptable. Got it? Thanks.

Please understand that only RLC "stage names" should be used, not their real names. Our problem is that there are so many tenants, it's difficult to keep up with who is who. If we get it wrong, just let us know and we will reinstate the post as originally expressed. Myself, I flipped out when people were talking about Miss Z (her real name), only to realize that they were referring to a new Miss Z (RLC stage name) in the wrong thread. Certainly the growth of VV, VHTV, and Camarads have not helped to prevent confusion about tenants names. Simply PM a Mod if you think we've got it wrong. Thank you.

I always question surveys. And there is a place for science in our lives, and it has brought us longevity, better health, a better diet, and better understanding of the universe and our lives. When someone you love dies, however, science is useless with helping our emotions or spirits cope with the loss. We face issues which science can say is a fact, but it cannot help us understand that which is unknowable. Hence, we must rely on faith. I certainly believe in Evolution, but my previous comment regarding Devolution was based on the fact that some people incorrectly apply and distort both Science and Religion to affirm their own deconstructive illusions. Powerful governments, historically, have been the biggest culprits in this regard, and they do this to expand their political and economic power. Individuals, generally, can get along well once they know each other and understand they have the same humanistic needs. You are not at all hated on this forum. I respect and appreciate your comments. Thank you for your service to our Nation. God bless the U.S. Marines. I would not be here without them.

Some Europeans don't quite understand the point of their cousins coming over to America because they were sick of Europe and wanted independence from it. It wasn't just breaking from the King of England, it also included breaking away from the Dutch Reformed Church and every other European institution. Then, apparently, the Europeans blew themselves up for the second time in the 20th Century, and suddenly nobody was around to police commerce except for the United States and the Soviet Union. Neither of these two nations had any experience with policing the high seas or keeping a lid on world problems. Give them a break. They're the little kids on the block. But looking back, I'm sure some of you would have preferred to be under Soviet control rather than buying Cokes and KFC or spending so much time on computers that were designed by evil money-grubbing US corporations. I'd be better off tending to my own business rather than providing for your upkeep. It's not arrogance; some of us just don't want to play your game.

I find myself in agreement with scutus on all of his points. Maya and Stepen appear to be burned out on the project, which one would expect. They probably are the cheapest couple for RLC to house; it's the oldest and smallest apartment in the entire group. I usually check on M&S to figure out what projects Maya is working on. But just by watching them over the years, I think the couple are pretty decent people, and come across as a couple you'd visit in normal life. They certainly are the last vestiges of what the RLC "project" tried to accomplish in its initial years of operation. I'm too old to be interested in Barc 1 & 2 apartments. That's for the less experienced men who still burn with overdoses of testosterone. I'll let that be their playground. As for me, it's either in St. Pete's listening to Anabel and Nellie play violin, or Krasnoyarsk watching Leora paint and Maya create her art. (This is not to say that I think they should be dressed when they do these things! I'm not that old!)

Actually, the 80's and 90's were pretty damn good, at least in North America. There was a tremendous amount of technological progress, a great deal was accomplished to clean the environment, and telegraphy morphed into what we now call the Internet. I once believed in Evolution as being logical, scientific and truthful; but I've overcome that and I'm now a firm believer in Human Devolution. It's the wave of the future, or so it appears. Serfs up!

I don't watch much TV. It's more of a waste of time than even RLC. In the U.S., "butt" can be either the end of a cigarette (once these were called "fags") or it can be a fanny, ass, or buttocks, depending upon the context. A "bum" in American English is a lazy shiftless person who does not wish to be employed. A vagrant. Could be applied to many of our CC members. However, in all languages, an open vagina translates as "Target Acquired." Some concepts are universal.

Please notice: None of our avatars wear gloves. Gloves are for Mickey Mouse. He's too scared to ever fight. Bugs is allowed to wear them because he's a smart dresser, and he is ashamed that he only has four digits per hand. But I suspect he has an addiction to Anabel's apartment. It's probably bunny love.
