    Are there any statistics to back that up? Some ahole who shot and killed a black teen because he thought they we're threat got life in prison recently. The law is pretty explicit, but some who use it as a defense without justification will go to prison.

    I agree, stand your ground laws are pretty clear, you don't need to retreat first before using force to protect yourself from great bodily harm or death. I work in a dangerous city, and I won't rely on anyone to protect me but myself.

    You so right Joey, words cut deep and last long after any pain from any physical violence. I was a very hurtful person in the past to the man I'm with now. I would say the most terrible things to try to hurt him when we we're arguing about something. I got help and never do it anymore. He forgiven me but I'm sure he's still thinks about it at times. I've never been able to forgive myself though, so the emotional pain goes on for both involved. These 2 need professional help, and Ana really deserves much better.
