I don't think it's 340. All you have to do is visit the attachment centre and the number goes up one on all content without even downloading it. Then if you happen to refresh the page it goes up another number. The stats aren't quite accurate but could be close though as most only goto the attachment centre to download.

Might be your Internet Browser have you tried a different one to see what happens. I use Internet Explorer 11 and it seems to work fine. Every browser seems to have different settings for certain features.
