Nina & Kira (2020) Part #8
sturmchaser replied to Kjeld Carlsen's topic in Nina & Kira - (08/20/19 - 07/24/24)
I didn't actually think it had been a year, which is why I presented the question in the form of a sardonic inquiry. But yes, time indeed does play tricks, as I thought they were there longer than under three months, probably based on how quickly they "personalized" the new place (not hard, considering how much SHTUFF they have!). I remember quite well, and while odd - at the time - especially to a Yank - it is much weirder now that they have to climb three steps and go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom! Logically, the bathroom should be where the office is, and office should be where the bathroom is. However, as @bigmac18 once explained to me, the odd layout is probably due to how the entire complex was designed, to make maximum use of the plumbing. Plus, you know, it's Russia. π In other news, has anyone spotted the four-legged visitor lately? I haven't been able to scan the timeline enough tonight to spot if it is still there or went home. -

Remember back in the day (has it been a year yet?), when we thought the new N&K apartment was really bizarrely shaped and small? We were all trying to figure out how it was shaped and why, the weird giant hallway and weird steps to the kitchen and the bathroom, and then the office space? The secret space in the left corner of cam-1. The strange views out of the first floor windows. And why they would choose such a strange place. And the ghosts in the elevator! It was a great time of speculation among us, excellent dialogue and banter. And now, almost a year later, we feel like they have lived here forever. We ALL feel comfortable with the apartment. It's not so small or strange now. It fits them quite well. I think that when we are with the right person, we can all call any place home. β€οΈπ©ββ€οΈβπβπ© -

It could very well be, I have never seen the cat before myself, all I have seen is Nina's Ma & Pa's beautiful GSD back in the days of you-know-where that starts with an R and ends with a C. An awesome specimen, well-behaved, but big enough to tear someone a new a-hole if commanded. But since B&S are not hostile toward it, it's clear they've met before, after a few butt sniffs. Also to note - they did not let B&L out of the cage while mystery cat is bunking at the N&K estate. -

Wonder who, and why? They are obviously cat-sitting for a friend, but it's not Masha/Lex/Sandra/Dima's cat. Interesting. -

Check it out on the timeline! Around 20:18 Kira is singing in the kitchen, and then we get a VERY SPECIAL GREETING from a fluffy furry feline. The time before and after are both good too, Kira singing to Linkin Park, while being MasterChef Kira. Later she changes light bulbs on the rickety ladder. The girl can do it all. β€οΈπβ€οΈπππ₯° -

As an aside, did anyone happen to catch the moment, I think around 1900ish? cam-1 in the kitchen, when our girls were trying to rodeo Breakfast and Lunch into their cage. Nina starts singing "KAPITAN" quite beautifully, quite perfectly, and it brought tears to my eyes to remember how brilliant her range is, and how casual she is with it. Both Breakfast and Lunch fell prey to Nina's siren call and into the trap of Kira's beautiful hair, THEN - into the bathroom - into the towel - then into the cage! Silly birds! My favorite moments. π₯° -

Thank you for the informed explanation, and I respect non-USA living and lifestyles, but my god, in my personal opinion, this type of living - having to rely on your basic needs on the actions of others? - is atrocious! I live in the middle of the Blue Ridge mountains, 15 feet from the Shenandoah, 6 miles from a neighbor, 24 miles from a basic gas-n-grocery store. I've been flood-blocked for days, snow-blocked for over a week, and without power for over two weeks. Yet I'm still alive. (because I like squirrel and rabbit π) I JUST DON"T GET CITY LIVING I know there is a mindset for city folk like Nina y Kira and Masha y Lex, and there is a mindset for country boys like me, and never the Twain shall meet, which is a Shania shame. I really think Kira would love to drive around in my truck and tour the interstates and truck stops and campgrounds listening to country music. Meanwhile, Nina would be bored as hell. We would have to drop her off at the nearest jazz bar off of I-695 in Baltimore (of which there are plenty) and pick her up a few weeks later on the return trip. *Sigh* fantasies. -

It must be extremely chilly in Peter, what with all the space heaters and robes and blankets around. But I checked weather, and it's only 61 (and raining). And why isn't there heat in the apt?? π€¨ -

I think neither of your concerns come into play, Kid. The landlady basically has no clue nor probably gives a shit (just no birds). I figure she's just like any other SPB slumlord, as long as she gets her rent money she's happy. And if this was a concern of the landlady, Nina would berate her into last year, and they'd move again. Point #2, yes, it is clear the walls are thin in this place, especially since we can hear the elevator and outside entrance in the hall, but I *think* (but not positive) they are in a corner unit, based on what we see out of the windows, and the bedroom is in the far corner? That being said, I switched to the hall cam-12 and I could definitely hear Nina's screams of ecstasy from Kira's magic. Sooo, even if the neighbors can hear it, they are probably enjoying it! -

HOWEVER, to answer your inquiry Le5b0, RedJenn is equipped with adaptive cruise control, which I employ during long stretches of I-95S, to which I might do the bunny hop, especially during a good country song, or when I know I'm coming close to one of my favorite stops that makes a bangers-n-mash worthy of the Queen! FOOD drives! π π€ -

LOL may the gods forbid me ever driving an "autotragic" tranny. That goes against ALL principles of driving a vehicle, ANY combustion vehicle, period. God help our grandkids with their 'automatics'. They'll never survive the zombie apocalypse. They can't even change a flat tire. My W900B86 has a full 18 gears, although in reality, we never really use all 18 when we're hauling. Just like a regular 4 banger never uses the H or L setting on their autotragic car - you don't employ them until you really need them. We stay at a steady 2-5 urban then split 6-9 to cruise, then split again for overdrive on the slab. Of course, our trannys have hi and low (like the 4 bangers) but rarely need them unless in high altitude and such. If you master the concept of the H, you can drive a truck! So yeah, we really do have 18 gears, and real trucks have big giant sticks in the middle, and a third pedal on the left. F*cking automatics. *spits* Disgusting. -

π π€£π Nice! Our Nina has always been a "twitchy" girl. We all know she has the typical Asperger's/ADHD symptoms, which accounts for her famous left leg "bunny hop" bounces when she is sitting still and concentrating on something, especially back in the good old days. But it isn't as pronounced as of late, maybe because of medication adjustment, or stricter enforcement from Kira to take her meds - or a combination of both, I conjecture. (Full disclosure - I also do the 'bunny hop' when I am driving in congested interstate traffic for hours on end. It's a way to let off steam, I guess, so I empathize with Nina in this respect). -

Kid may be confusing that he paid his VHTV membership, and assumed full access to CC. But CC is a totally different entity from VH. One membership does not grant the other. That's a separate $20 charge, Kid. Suck it up and pull out the MasterCard! π -

Oh dear! Meanwhile, BUTCH is helping himself to the leftovers left haphazardly on the stove. I have warned these girls time and time and time again, SECURE your leftovers immediately in the fridge, especially with two hungry carnivores around! But do they listen? Nooooo! ππ p.s. you can tell it's Butch, he's the orange one with the fluffy tail! π -

...and people say that Nina and Kira are "boring." Oh you poor fools and newbies, if only you knew and witnessed the life and love, failures and successes, drama and beautiful moments, and basic simple life that these two amazing girls have lived out before our very eyes for the past six years... that's right, since 2014... you might understand better. Meanwhile, give them the respect they've earned. There's a reason for their longevity. π
