We have democratic processes (i.e. each person gets to vote for their representative), but the representative's vote are who decide who gets to be President. Is it democratic, when all representatives of the state have to vote for the candidate that won the state? How can they accept that??

Of course the rules have to be 100 % clear. If mail-in votes are accepted (a strange and unsecure system), the postmark is of course the crucial evidence of the mail sent in time and if it is not clear the ballots that come after the election day have to be refused. But that refusal applies to votes given to both candidates, not just Biden.

In countries that are able to organise the election well and democratically, the advance polling will happen at polling stations (there will be plenty of them) where polling will end one week before the election day, polling officials will collect the ballots, put each of them in a sealed envelope and send them to the counting center. All votes shall be counted before the polling stations close on the election day, and the results of advance polling shall be published the minute the election has been closed. Voters cannot mail their ballots directly, without the polling officials. The U.S. election system with all those electors having to vote against their own candidate in the end is really out of the modern democratic world.

It is impossible to understand how a formerly mighty country step by step loses its power and credibility by allowing a mentally disturbed person lead it and even apply for four years more. A disaster! I hope democracy is honored, though I am no more surprised by anything that happens.

And if electors are used, in the final election the electors will of course vote for the candidate they are representing, and they cannot be forced to vote for the other candidate in case he has won more votes in that state. We used to have the electors some thirty years ago, and there was of course the theoretical risk that some of them would change their mind in the final secret election and reject their original candidate, but that very seldom happened. And nowadays the direct voting works well and electors are no more needed. And the early votes are counted before the election day and published at the exact time the polling stations are closed on the election day - and the results of the early votes are usually very close to the final results.

Mail-in voting in the U.S. is as weird as the election system as a whole. In all politically developed countries, the deadline for the mail-in votes is about one week before the election day and the result of those votes will be published punctually at the time when the polling places get closed on the election day. Immediately after that, the counting of that day´s votes will begin around the country, and the progression of the counting will be shown in a live TV-sending. And all mail-in votes have been given at official voting places (set up in post offices, shopping centers...) and sealed and collected by voting officials.
