Also I would like to point out to you your use of the word England when referring to British politics. At the moment we are a United Kingdom and policies and decisions are created and voted on by MP's from four different parts of the country not just England. I know full well that you being an informed and intelligent person you know all this already but your terminology was wrong. Hi Stone,I could just as easily sayTony Blair was PM for 10 Years and must have done some good and he was on the opposite side of the house.As you well know it doesn't matter what democracy you live in the opposition in Government always know's best and sooner or later the sitting party runs out of steam and it is the voting public who decide who fucks up next(not to put too fine a point on it).

Hi Rob,I would like to clear up a few points here: (1)I omitted to say that I was not against the poll tax but just the way we were used to test it. (2)Scottish Independence is not a dance😀(see your post pal) (3)I deliberately didn't mention the miners because once again(not unlike the poll tax)there were sound economic reasons for closing pits but as usual it was her way or the highway.Not all her policies were wrong but IMO she was just an obnoxious person whom I am sure was not universally loved by her own party members. (4)Unions can make bad decisions just as easily as Government but I think Trade Unions help to keep a sense of balance in the workplace if operated sensibly.
