Oh sure, I get that. But, sending a ticket to VHTV is akin to a demand, right? You expect them to "do something" and if they don't then it's because they don't agree with you or something like that.  When I complain about something here, I don't expect that anything will change, but when I send a ticket I do. I just think cam placements are a very personal thing and they must have their reasons for putting them the way they do. I'm all for complaining here and they can read that if they want to and change based on what we say, but sending tickets hold some degree for an actual change.

I understand what you're saying and I already agreed that making
demands is probably not the best way to get the results you want.

I'm not so sure about the personal thing, though. Cam placement
is all about maximizing the number of views for the tenants. The
better the views for the subs, the more views the tenants get - as
long as they're doing something worth watching, of course. And,
the more views the tenants get, the more money they make.

Consequently, I would think they and their managers might at least
be open to considering suggestions for cam placement, if it might
help them make more money.

Unfortunately, I think most of the tenants, especially the younger
ones and/or those without a lot of technical knowledge, rely
completely on whoever decides where the cams are to be placed
and the techs who install them. That doesn't always work to their
best interest as far as maximizing views.

I'm sure you'll agree we've seen some crazy, weird, sometimes even
unexplainable cam positions. Sometimes, we seem to be viewing
from a different country 😊 or we get god-awful bird's-eye views or
whatever the case. From the subs' perspective, if a cam presents
a bad view, they probably aren't going to watch from that cam or
those cams and that can significantly reduce the number of views
an apt gets.

For that reason, cam placement can't be a personal thing. It has to
be viewed from a business standpoint because that's ultimately
what it is: a business decision.

I don't think you are taking into consideration the possibilities available. There has to be a place to put the cams. Plus, the opinion and comfort of the talent does matter even if it comes at a cost.

I absolutely agree. That's why I said people should input suggestions
to be considered, not necessarily followed. And, of course, everyone's
opinion matters. I only think decisions should be approached from
more of a business standpoint, instead of a personal one. And, if a
suggestion doesn't work for whatever reason, that's what the round
file is for. 😊
